Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before getting started
What rights do I need to own to work with BeatBridge?
You need to own or control the rights you’re looking to transact - whether that’s master recordings, publishing/composition rights, or both. If you’re unsure about your ownership situation, we can help clarify during our initial call.
What’s the difference between masters and publishing?
Master recordings are the actual sound recordings of songs. Publishing rights cover the underlying compositions (lyrics and melody). You can own one, both, or neither - and each can be transacted separately. We handle both.
Full sale vs. partial sale vs. distribution deal - what’s the difference?
A full sale transfers 100% of ownership to the buyer. A partial sale transfers a percentage while you retain the rest. A distribution deal keeps you as the owner but partners you with a distributor who handles exploitation. We help you choose the right structure.
How long does the process typically take?
Most transactions close within 8-16 weeks from initial outreach to signing. Timing varies based on catalog complexity, buyer diligence requirements, and negotiation scope. We set realistic expectations upfront.
What’s confidential? Who sees my information?
Everything is NDA-protected from day one. We only share information with buyers you’ve approved, and only after they’ve signed confidentiality agreements. We operate on a permission-based outreach model.
Do you work with clients worldwide?
Yes. We serve rightsholders globally, with a network of 40+ buyers across 15+ countries.
Do you charge upfront fees?
No. We work on a success-fee basis only. We’re paid a percentage of the transaction value at closing - meaning our incentives are fully aligned with getting you the best deal.
What affects my catalog’s valuation?
Key factors include: historical and projected earnings, revenue diversification (streaming, sync, performance), genre durability, catalog depth, geographic reach, and ownership clarity. We’ll walk you through what moves the needle.
I earn under $1,000/month. Can I still work with you?
We typically work with catalogs generating $1,000/month or more, but we’re happy to evaluate your catalog regardless. If it’s not the right fit now, we’ll advise on steps to prepare for the future.
Can you help with royalty advances or funding?
Yes. We connect rightsholders with advance providers and structure deals that provide liquidity without requiring a full sale. This is an option for those who want to maintain ownership while accessing capital.
What if I just want distribution, not a sale?
Absolutely. Back-catalog distribution deals are a core part of what we do. We help you find the right distribution partner with favorable terms - improved splits, marketing support, and transparent reporting.
