Iron Maiden sell stake in catalog and name, image and likeness rights to Pophouse

Pophouse Entertainment has taken a stake in Iron Maiden's publishing and master rights, reportedly 50%, along with name, image and likeness rights.

Swedish entertainment company Pophouse Entertainment has struck a deal with Iron Maiden, announced on July 14, 2026, covering a stake in the band's catalog plus name, image and likeness (NIL) rights. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What changes hands

According to Billboard, Pophouse has bought a 50% stake in the band's publishing and master rights; that percentage comes from press reporting rather than from the parties' own announcement. The agreement also covers NIL rights, which gives Pophouse a role in the Iron Maiden brand beyond royalty income. The band is managed by Rod Smallwood, with Andy Taylor and Dave Shack of Phantom Music as co-managers.

The catalog

  • 17 studio albums released since the band formed in East London in 1975.
  • More than 100 million records sold worldwide.
  • More than 2,500 concerts played in 64 countries.
  • Awards including a Grammy, Brit Awards and Ivor Novello Awards.
  • Eddie, the band's mascot, which Pophouse plans to build a digital universe around.

Why it matters

Pophouse is best known as a founding investor in ABBA Voyage, and its business model is to turn catalogs into live and digital experiences. Its plans for Iron Maiden include the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience, a walk-through exhibition, a concert film of the Run For Your Lives tour, and possible avatar or immersive shows. The company previously bought KISS's catalog, name and likeness in a deal reported at more than $300 million, which supports a KISS avatar show planned for 2027, and in March 2026 it acquired a majority stake in Tina Turner's music interests in a deal with BMG. Its roster also includes Cyndi Lauper, Avicii and Swedish House Mafia.

For artists weighing a sale, the deal shows that a partial stake plus NIL can be an attractive middle path: the band keeps half of its core rights while bringing in a partner that invests in new ways to use the brand. Acts with a strong visual identity and a loyal live audience are especially suited to this kind of buyer.
