House of Music sells Asian Fake recorded catalog to Warner Music Italy

Warner Music Italy has bought the recorded catalog of Asian Fake, the Milan indie label behind Coma_Cose and Ketama126, from its parent company House of Music.

Warner Music Italy has acquired the recorded music catalog of Asian Fake, the Milan-based independent label behind Coma_Cose and Ketama126. The agreement was signed with Asian Fake's parent company, House of Music S.r.l. (HOM), and was announced on June 3, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What changes hands

The deal covers the label's recorded music catalog, roughly a decade of releases since Asian Fake was founded in 2017 by Filippo Palazzo. Publishing rights are not mentioned as part of the transaction. Warner says it will develop the catalog in international markets through its distribution network, and Warner Music Italy CEO and chairman Pico Cibelli framed the purchase as a way to grow the label's impact both at home and abroad. On the seller side, HOM describes itself as an ecosystem that discovers, incubates and scales early-stage talent, and it plans to keep expanding by bringing boutique labels into its structure.

The catalog

  • Coma_Cose: one of the headline acts the label is best known for.
  • Ketama126: the other signature artist named in the announcement.
  • Italian urban and indie-pop: the label's focus since 2017, covering about ten years of productions.

Why it matters

Warner Music Group has been adding Italian repertoire: in January 2025 it acquired Italo disco label DWA Records, with more than 250 master recordings including The Rhythm of the Night by Corona. The Asian Fake deal extends that strategy to more recent, streaming-era catalog. Italy's recorded music market has been growing, with revenues up 9.7% year on year to 208.1 million euros in the first half of 2025 and subscription streaming up 12.7%.

For owners of young independent catalogs, this deal is a useful reference: buyers are not only interested in decades-old heritage repertoire. A focused catalog of around ten years, with recognizable artists in a growing local market, can be sold to a major, while the seller keeps its incubation business and reinvests in new talent.
